Job Title: Stylist Apprentice
Location: Blondie’s Salon & Spa
Program Length: 12 Weeks
Status: Apprentice (Part-Time, Temporary Training Role)
Upon Graduation: Promotion to Level 1 Stylist
Compensation:

  • Level 1: $12/hour

  • Level 2: $13/hour

  • Graduation: 40% Service Commission + 10% Retail Commission

Program Summary:

Blondie’s Salon & Spa offers a hands-on, 12-week Cosmetology Apprenticeship Program designed for cosmetology students or recent graduates (within 4 years of graduation) ready to fast-track their career. Our structured, in-salon training prepares apprentices to grow from foundational skills to advanced client services, with mentorship from industry-leading stylists and trainers.

What You’ll Learn:

  • Client consultation, guest experience, and luxury service enhancements

  • Shampooing, headspa treatments, blow-dry and styling theory

  • Haircutting, updos, special occasion styling, and curly hair care

  • Color techniques including root touch-ups, highlights, balayage, and more

  • Business education: branding, time standards, treatment planning, and client retention

  • Social media fundamentals and photography basics for personal brand growth

Structure & Schedule:

The program is divided into 3 phases:

  • Phase 1 (If currently in school): Saturdays only (9:00AM-3:00PM)

  • Phase 2 (Post-graduation): Tuesday–Thursday training and client days
    • Tuesdays 9:00AM-6:00PM
    • Wednesdays 9:00AM-5:00PM
    • Thursdays 9:00AM-6:00PM
    • After Session 8 of Program: Add Fridays 9:00AM-6:00PM

  • Phase 3 (After Session 8): Adds Friday client work
    All apprentices complete weekly homework through Google Classroom and receive regular evaluations on skill, speed, and professionalism.

Requirements:

  • Currently enrolled in or recently graduated from a licensed cosmetology program

  • Professional attitude, punctuality, and willingness to learn

  • Must have access to a computer/laptop for homework submissions

  • Commitment to the full 12-week program and scheduled sessions

Graduation Outcome:

Upon successful completion, apprentices may be promoted to Level 1 Stylist with the opportunity to build their own schedule and begin earning commission-based pay.
